DERBY RUSH

Post by Chris »

Derby Rush (Koutarou) features a large LCD screen above the reels in a fun horse racing theme. The bright colors and animation add to the fun of this machine. While the machine features a lot of Japanese (in both the voices and animations) it does not take too much away from the game play as you are able to figure out what is going on most of the time. Derby Rush stocks a RB, BB, Super BB and the Derby Rush (AT game). A Super Big Bonus is just like a BB but it uses AT (Assist Time) to tell you which order to stop the reels in so you will win. A normal BB will pay out in the 360-400 range while a SBB will pay out in the 450-500 range. DR's big bonus music features a Japanese singer singing a song that is so catchy it will have you dancing along.
The Derby Rush is an AT game where you will have one of the horses picked for you. Once the race starts you will route for your horse to win. If your horse wins they you will be granted 50 AT Style games where you will win most of them. If your horse loses then you will be granted 10 AT Style games. After you AT game counter gets to zero you may be granted another 10,20 or 50 games. I was able to win over 2000 tokens during a Derby Rush in which I also won a BB and a RB. During each DR round you will be treated to different songs which features a music only version of the BB sounds as well as a musical version of Camp Town Races.
Derby Rush's light show is where this machine really shines (no pun intended). The machine lights up on either side of the LCD screen as well as down by the belly glass. The upper lights look like a multi-colored strobe light.
