Thanks for the picture dbeeks1! I think I'll try it. Worse case I would just need to buy another part if I break something.

Just put your MB up on some wood spacers and it will be fine. Arcades do it all the time.
I once put a multimedia PC inside of a VCR/DVD case.

What do you think I should do with the power and reset switches? I know you can buy button kits to mount them pretty much anywhere. The VCR/DVD case sounds like a cool mod. I like seeing what people can do with computer modding. I'll be starting on this Monday, that is when my thermal paste is supposed to be delivered.

You can use the standard arcade buttons for the power and reset. On my mame machine I have a black button on the back of the machine for power. I don't currently have a reset button...you can always hold down the power button for 5 (or so) seconds to shutdown the power.
Inside my machine I mounted the motherboard to the side of the machine up by the monitor. I need to get some fans to help cool it since I am using an old tube monitor. Up until this point I have not had any issues with heat but the fans can't hurt.
These are my opinions and just because I am the admin you don't have to agree with me

I think I'll go with the arcade button for the power. I've got a ton of fans for this project, just need to start figuring out where its all going to go! Thanks for the idea Chris!

One of the arcade buttons in the pic I posted is the pc power button, the other is a right click button so I can exit Mame/Touchmaster 5000 without needing a keyboard encoder. I used one on my Mame cab for power as well.

Any NO mom. switch (arcade button) will work for the power. On mine it was a blue and white pair.

I'm stuck on how to mount the hard drive. I took apart two old computer cases and neither will work for a mount. Anybody have another way to mount the drive?

use the side screw holes, and 2 thin sheet metal angle brackets, or just a strap over the top. screw the angle down to your wooden case. just make sure your data cable will reach.

Thanks Gman, I will try this! Now I have to find my box of angle brackets. I can't wait to organize everything and finish some of these projects.

Cool. You were able to get everything inside. I think you are going to have to put it on tour once you are done so we can all play it for a week :)

Of course I'll do a youtube video! And I was thinking of putting a start to finish photos of the machine on my website.

I'll throw a ton of packing peanuts on it and ship it off in a big box! Or you guys and gals can come to my house for pinball night!
