What about summer heat? It can get rather hot in the garage too.
I suspect that the backglass can be quite expensive for one in good condition--if it could even be found. The cold is probably worse than the heat I'd think on the paint condition though.

It's my understanding that the cold make's the ink actually shrink. That's what causes the crazing, I havn't seen heat except that from light bulbs do anything to the glass.

G man can give you better advise, than I can when it comes to the back glass and SS machines than I can.

I never heard any reports of hot garages causing paint crazing.

I have had issues with hot and humid conditions making switch's not work.
The machines play different at higher temperatures and humidity, rubber softens more, wood swells. Metal rusts faster.
