Christmas pingame project

Post by dbeeks1 »

My boys really like playing Baffle Ball on Microsoft Pinball Arcade, so I thought it would be cool to make them a pingame similar to the Baffle Ball Home Game for Christmas.

Here are some pics of the finished game. It is about 14"x24", the size of the Junior Baffle Ball Home Game.

Now there's a present that won't break the first time they use it.
It looks really good!
Good enough to for you to sell those badboy's.

I liked playing a play-boy bagatelle on PS2 Gottleib pinball
I thought of making one but I never was that ambitious.

I guess the simulation will have to do.

Thanks Forest! Not sure it would be a profitable venture. Each one of the round targets has about 52 nails. The brass brads are cheap, but 45 minutes to an hour for each target adds up. It was a fun project, but it will most likely remain one of a kind.

Dbeeks is that brass colored threshold you used for the rail?
is that a sticker or is that hand painted?
did you make a drill jig for those nail holes?

I want to say again, very nice work!

On the Play-boy table I was thinking I could layout the whole board with nail locations and the 'cards' in place and print the whole thing as one sticker, then apply it and drill the holes after it was in place.

Yes
Gman wrote:is that a sticker or is that hand painted?
I drew the targets and instructions with MS Potodraw and printed them on regular paper with an inkjet printer. I used a craft glue called Mod Podge to glue them down and coat over them and once dry I applied several coats of clear acrylic spray.
Gman wrote:did you make a drill jig for those nail holes?
No jig, but I did use 3/16" tile spacers to space them evenly. I used a small piece of 1x next to the nail while pounding it in so I could only pound it in to that depth.
I tried to place the nails that are not on the printed parts in patterns like the original, measuring and guessing.
To produce several games, a jig would be the way to go!

Thanks Gman - that means a lot coming from someone with the woodworking skills that you have.
I hope the kids like it as much as I do.

I would have snatched that up for $45! finding room right now for it would be the hard part.
I will be building my new shop and game room this spring, if all goes as planned. :evil3: And if the Mrs. can keep her job.
I will move all the pinball's and pachi out of the house. I went out with a couple friends and we played some pool. I think I will get a pool table for the game room, the Mrs. wants a full size shuffle board too. I like the shuffle bowling that can be played on the shuffle board too.
I have a couple of pinz on my want list I will be hunting down as soon as I get more room (and $)

It sold quick and the day I saw it I already had to be in two places at once :?

Do you know often I say to my self It would be a mistake to pass on this deal or that one
Sure I sell quite a bit, but lately I've had to become very creative in finding storage space. I'm seriously considering renting a storage unit so I can move stuff on my time rather then the bosses.
