Tougher is better. Many pins are too easy.

I have to agree with Jeff. If you're going to own a machine it should continue to challenge you.

The machine looked better when it was purchased in the 80's (of course), but it spent over ten years stored in a garage/shed before I rescued it a few years ago. Chrome polish, Millwax, new rubbers, some miscellaneous parts and a lot of time got it to its current state. It still doesn't score the post ball bonus correctly, but scores perfectly while the ball is in play.

I just purchased my first pin. A 1987 Party Animal by Bally. I should get it on Sunday delivered locally. Got a real good deal on it also! half the going price of 1 of that age. I cannot wait to play this sucker on Sunday. It also has a keypad with it where you can program all kinds of different values into the machine. Its a gadget geeks dream! Only 2250 where made of this model. It was 1 of the last machines made by Bally also. There are 2 version's 1 with a picture of a beer on the front with a wild wolf saying rock me! and then there is the root beer version. I was lucky to get the actually tavern version the beer one! So I am now a pinball owner, and will be actively using these forums for advice and tips!!!

Congrats on your pinball purchase. I have 3 pins.
I wish I had more room for pins, but that would mean getting rid of slots. That won't happen.
Keep us updated.

Accordibg to IPDB.org The jukebox changes when you hit the targets. cool feature..
Let us know how you like it once you get it home.
Not sure on the keypad but these came with with three buttons inside the cabinet PLUS the game start button there are custom messages you can have scroll during attract mode only about 1/3 of the cycles usually.

I picked up a Buccaneer this weekend. It was on my wants list. It is a single player wedgehead from Gottlieb. Bought it on Sunday and by Sunday night, I put over 50 plays on it.

Nice buy Jeff! Wedge heads are very collectible.

My recent purchase is: The Machine, Bride of Pinbot, it had a display out and it has dirt ground in all the way to the wood. I installed a Pinscore LED display from Marco. Really easy and looks great, the pinscore has the added feature of a built in dimmer. No high voltage required and runs cooler, quieter. Easy direct swap plug in install too!

Gman,
I always loved the Bride of Pinbot. A great looking and playing machine.
Well, I am on a roll. This weekend I picked up A Bally Old Chicago EM for a great price off Craig's list. While I was there, the owner ask me if I wanted a Circa 1933 Cocktail Pinball machine for free. He said He checked all the wiring and fuses and it won't fire up. I took it and put it in my truck. I just went through it and checked the fuses one at a time even though he said he changed them. I did find a fuse tucked in a far away place and sure enough it was bad. I changed it and it fired up. The machine plays good. No wear. I replaced a few bulbs and am waiting for a new ring kit from Marco. Once I shop it out, it should be upgraded from good to great.
A total of $20 I will have in this machine. Can't beat that. I am going to shop out the Old Chicago at the same time. I ordered new rubber for that machine as well.

Well I did it again....

I picked up a Sega Independence Day last week.

I was planning in cleaning it up and then selling it. That's why is was left in the garage and not taken to the basement.

It was REALLY dirty, when I say dirty I mean black dirt!!!!!

Looks like a coil got stuck and smoked.

Well after a bit of scrubbing this pinball is coming around. No playfield wear that I see and there are only a couple of cracked plastics.

I got it for a good price and have about $100 in parts in it so far. The only thing I have not found yet is a translite. The current one is OK, has some paint sticking to the glass though.

So heres the issue, if this thing plays well I'm going to want to keep it and I have no room for anothter pinball......

It looks to be a cool but rare machine. Marco might have your translite? and some PF parts, have fun with it.

I get a bunch of stuff from Marco but the translite is out of stock or I would have bought it with my last order.

I also buy from pinballlife.com they have the best prices on bulbs and standard parts that I have found anywhere.

Also all of my parts from Marco and pinballlife showed up yesterday so I know what I will be doing this weekend. To bad it is going to be in the 90s and the machine is in my garage.
