Slight humming noise when machine is pluged in but not turned on

Post by JamesWladich »

Has or does anyone ever hear a slight hummin noise when there machine is pluged in but not turned on? My 2003 sammy hnk is doing this im wondering if it will or is going to be a problem down the road? Thanks for the help? If it helps it is coming from the main power cord that is going to a square box located to the right off the hopper mounted on the side wall hope this helps!

That would be the transformer. It is recommended to unplug the machine from the wall, when not in use.

Even with the machine turned OFF, but still plugged into the wall outlet, power is still going to the transformer. It would be possible for the transformer to over heat and cause a fire.Image

Most Members plug their machine into a power strip, with a ON/OFF switch. That way you can leave the cord from the machine plugged in the power strip and turn the power ON and OFF at the power strip. It's just like unplugging it from the wall.
Also, if you have multiple machines plugged into the power strip, you can turn them all ON or OFF at once.Image
