Gamera High Vision Parts Needed

Post by Frank A »

I need the necessary parts needed on a Gamera High Vision to make the error message NO SYNC go away. May I assume that the LCD screen is good since it lights up bright white with the NO SYNC message ? If anyone has the complete assembly tested and working I am willing to buy the whole Hitachi assembly that goes under the white plastic housing.

That a tough one.
Don't give in often a part turns up.
Good Luck!

The no-sync message says to me that the video screen is probably functioning correctly. It sounds like the video cards is what is bad or not receiving power. It there are fan on the video card of the GHG? I think my Popeye has one. Is it spinning?
These are my opinions and just because I am the admin you don't have to agree with me

I second that Chris.
Can you test for power on your video card? Don't know if you have experience with a meter or not.

Sounds like a power issue, is the power supply giving the proper power needed to run the video card.
Sounds to me like it is not.

We changed out several wires and harness assemblies at first without results. Mike heard a hum so we changed out the power supply. Not the issue. He unplugged some other harness assemblies until the hum or hiss went away and isolated the issue to the power board with the fan assembly which is located behind the LCD screen. He took the complete LCD screen assembly apart and fortunately we had some spare parts to swap out to do this. Reconnected everything and wow ! Mike is a welcome member to our hobby and Pachislodb family. I need to close the repair thread and the parts needed thread. How do I do that ?

Lompoker,
A big thank you to you also since we were able to use the fan power supply as a replacement after changing out the actual fan unit which may have been grounding out the board. As you said in your note, most of the parts that we swapped out from the door that you sent were fried, but we salvaged a harness or two. Thank you again for your generosity in giving me the door.
