I am noticing that many people do not have avatars. Do I need to increase the size of the avatars allowed to be uploads? If so, what size do I need to go to? I don't want them too big, but what seems to be a common size?

I don't know what size it is to be, but I know mine is too big. I am going to resize it, but haven't had time.

I posted the MS photo resizer link, easy to resize any std image into a custom size.
FYI: Another site has avatar set to 150x200 pixels or 78k

My avatar from another site was too large. I just never got around to messing with it. Thanks for the reminder.

Your size specs are fine. It wasn't hard at all to resize to meet the requirements and then I saved it as a jpg for the web and made the file size even smaller.

These avatars and smilies are just fine. Easier to read posts without flickering and animated stuff.
